Supervise Asbestos Removal course specifies the outcomes required to supervise the removal process for friable and non-friable asbestos containing material (ACM).
The unit includes planning for and supervising the removal process, including preparing the work area and the worksite, using safe and compliant removal practices, maintaining safety procedures, and supervising the decontamination and removal processes.
Ensuring compliance with the asbestos removal control plan (ARCP) is central to the effective performance of the role.
Licensed asbestos assessors must conduct and document required air monitoring, testing, and certification processes according to legislation.
Supervisors must complete work in compliance with relevant legislation, the Code of Practice for the Safe Removal of Asbestos, industry guidelines, customer and organisational requirements, as well as work health and safety (WHS) policies and regulatory standards.
All supervisors overseeing the ACM removal process must complete this unit.
Candidates aiming to supervise friable ACM removal must complete CPCCCDE4008, while those overseeing non-friable ACM removal need CPCCCDE3014.
