Prerequisites & Course Requirements

PRE REQUISITE UNITS:

Participants must hold a current Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to Perform Dogging & CPCCLRG3001 – Licence to Perform Rigging Basic Level prior to attending this course.

Additionally:

  • Persons must be 18 years of age or older
  • Photo ID must be presented i.e. current drivers licence or passport
  • Basic numeracy skills.
  • Basic English language and literacy
  • USI Number
  • Appropriate clothing (Hi Vis shirt, long pants, with steel cap boots)

How Is the Course Delivered?

The CPCCLDG3002 course is delivered through face-to-face training, on site at your preferred suitable location, ensuring you gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

The course is designed to be completed in up to four (4) days, giving you a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

What Will You Learn?

  • Planning the Task: Review instructions, gather and interpret safety and workplace information. Identify hazards, choose rigging gear, and establish communication.
  • Selecting and Inspecting Equipment: Ensuring the correct lifting gear, PPE and communication equipment is used and properly inspected for safe operations.
  • Setting Up the Task: Ensure Risk Controls and all safety measures are in place. Communicate plans and implement safety measures. Confirm task suitability with ground and structure assessments.
  • Undertake Intermediate Rigging Activities: Erect, operate, and dismantle structures. Conduct multiple-crane lifts, install tilt-up panels, and remove concrete encased structural elements. Erect and dismantle one of the following: a tower crane section or a crane lattice boom section, or a fly jib on a mobile slewing or a non-guyed tower crane.
  • Complete the task: Remove excess materials from work area. Inspect structures, plant, equipment and gear for defects, and isolate, tag out and report defective items. Store plant, equipment and gear in accordance with workplace requirements. Remove risk controls and safety measures and equipment.

Course Structure and Assessment

Students will be assessed through practical demonstrations, scenario-based training, and written or verbal questioning.

This comprehensive assessment process ensures you are fully competent in all aspects of Intermediate rigging before being awarded your qualification.

Licensing and Certification

Upon successful completion of this unit, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for:

The CPCCLDG3002 – Licence to Perform Rigging (Intermediate) course is available for $1,100 

Please note:

  • The course fee covers both the Worksafe application fee and the HRTA administration fee.
  • HRTA will handle the Worksafe application process for you.

 

High Risk Training Academy (HRTA), deliver and assess this course under a third-party agreement with Harness Training RTO #40521.

Certificates are issued by Harness Training after all documentation has been submitted and course fees paid. Harness issue your certificate upon successful completion of your course, typically within 7-10 days.
